Review: Planes & Pilots Douglas A-4 Skyhawk 1955 - 2015

Mais um review de um livro aqui no blog. Trata-se de um livro da série Planes and pilots do autor Gerárd Paloque. 

Another review of a book here in my blog. This is a book of Planes and pilots series by the author Gerárd Paloque.

O livro trás um pouco da história do caça de forma resumida, com o desenvolvimento, versões e países que utilizaram o avião. 

The book brings a bit of history of the fighter, with the development, versions and countries that used the plane.

Mas o principal atrativo desta série são os perfis coloridos de praticamente todas as versões do caça, incluindo também quase todos os esquadrões da US Navy e do US Marines que voaram o tipo.
But the main attraction of this series are the colorful profiles of virtually all versions of the jet, including also almost all US Navy and US Marines esquads that flew the type.

Além dos esquadrões americanos, parte do livro também retrata os principais esquemas de pintura dos outros países que operaram o Skyhawk. 

In addition to the American squadrons, part of the book portrays the paint schemes of the other countries that operated the Skyhawk.

Por fim, um bom título para qualquer plastimodelista ou apreciadores de perfis de aviação. Para quem gosta e conhece o Skyhawk vai notar alguns erros, principalmente de tradução (o livro original é em francês) e em alguns perfis. Mesmo assim, considero um compêndio bem interessante de pinturas e esquema de pintura deste caça, algo não muito comum de se achar. Quem procura um livro com muitos detalhes e texto amplo sobre o assunto esse já não é o livro indicado. 
Finally, a good title for any modeller or lovers of aviation profiles. For those who like and know the Skyhawk will notice some errors, mainly in translation (the original book is in French) and some profiles. Even so, I consider a very interesting compendium of profiles, something not very common to be found. Anyone looking for a book with lots of detail and ample text about the subject this should not be your choice.
