O Dewoitine D.520 foi um caça utilizado na IIGM pela França. Que alguns anos antes da guerra estava equipada com aeronaves obsoletas como o Morane Saulnier MS.406 e o P-36 Hawk.

A esperança residia num caça, o Dewoitine D-520, o último modelo de uma série de caças criados por Émile Dewoitine. O protótipo levantou voo em Setembro de 1938 e foi logo encomendado em massa para equipar a Armee de L`Air. Mas em Junho de 1940, o D-520, motorizado com apenas 800 cavalos, não teve tempo de prosseguir o seu desenvolvimento como os Spitfire ou os Bf-109, pois a França se rendeu a Blitzkrieg Alemã. Após a rendição, serviram na Força aérea de Vichy. Alguns serviram pela França Livre e também foram usados pela Hungria, Roménia e Itália.
The hope lay in a fighter, the Dewoitine D-520, the latest model in a series of fighters created by Émile Dewoitine. The prototype took off in September 1938 and was soon ordered to equip the Armee de L`Air. But in June 1940, the D-520, powered by just 800 horses, did not have time to continue its development like the Spitfire or the Bf-109, as France surrendered to German Blitzkrieg. O kit que vou montar é o Hobby Boss "easy kit" na escala 1/72, que na minha opinião é um kit razoável deste caça. Talvez o melhor kit nessa escala seja o Hasegawa, mas não é muito fácil de achar e esse HB com algum esforço no interior dá pro gasto. Ainda mais que paguei uma pechincha por ele na China.
The kit I am going to build is the Hobby Boss "easy kit" in scale 1/72, which in my opinion is a reasonable kit for this fighter. Perhaps the best kit on this scale is the Hasegawa, but it is not very easy to find and this HB with some effort is worth the expense. Even more than I paid a bargain for it in China.

Vou montar esse kit OOB, somente com os "scratches" e detalhes no cockpit. Os decais são para duas versões francesas, ambas da Força Aérea de Vichy. Escolhi a pintura do Tenente Michel Madon, do Esquadrão GC I/3 (veja acima) que participou tanto de ações contra os alemães na campanha da França, quanto contra os aliados no Norte da África! Ele abateu 11 aviões durante sua carreira e mais 4 prováveis.

Então ficamos obrigados a melhorar um pouco esses detalhes, adicionando aqui um painel de instrumentos, manche, painéis laterais, mira e cintos.

Normalmente o encaixe desses kits são relativamente bons, mas sempre é necessário alguma correção com putty. Nesse Dewoitine tive que arrumar a junção da asa com a fuselagem.
Usually the fit of these kits is relatively good, but some correction with putty is always necessary. In this Dewoitine I had to fix the junction of the wing with the fuselage.
Depois da lixa, só colar o canopi já mascarado e a montagem está pronta para ir para o primer e pintura. Por isso se chama easy kit!
