WIP: Bedford QLC Fuel Bowser RAF Airfix 1/76

Quem nunca reformou aquele kit antigo, montado a muito tempo, que não ficou com o melhor acabamento, ou que chegou até você do jeito que você gosta? Bem, eu tenho vários kits assim que seguidamente costumo colocar na bancada, até mesmo para fazer algumas experiências.
Who has never renovated that old kit, built a long time ago, that didn't have the best finish, or that came to you the way you like it? Well, I have several kits like this that I often put on the bench, even to do some experiments.
Algum anos atrás recebi esse Bedford da Airfix (Componente do kit RAF Refuelling Set) em uma compra de kits, já montado, mas com acabamento e montagem mais simples.
A few years ago I received this Bedford from Airfix (Component of the RAF Refueling Set) in a kit purchase, already assembled, but with simpler finishing and assembly.
O kit estava completo e relativamente bem conservado, sem partes faltantes aparentemente, somente com uma das portas quebrada. Retirei a tinta antiga do kit com soda cáustica, limpei bem, desmontei algumas partes e parti para a remontagem!
The kit was complete and relatively well maintained, with no missing parts apparently, with only one of the doors broken. I removed the old paint from the kit with caustic soda, cleaned it well, dismantled some parts and start to rebuild it!
Bedford Vehicles, geralmente abreviado apenas para Bedford, era uma marca de veículos fabricada pela Vauxhall Motors, na época uma subsidiária da General Motors na Inglaterra. Fundada em abril de 1931 e construindo veículos comerciais, a Bedford Vehicles era uma marca líder internacional de caminhões, com vendas substanciais de exportação de caminhões leves, médios e pesados em todo o mundo.
Bedford Vehicles, usually shortened to just Bedford, was a brand of vehicle manufactured by Vauxhall Motors, then a subsidiary of General Motors. Established in April 1931 and constructing commercial vehicles, Bedford Vehicles was a leading international lorry brand, with substantial export sales of light, medium, and heavy lorries throughout the world.
No início da Segunda Guerra Mundial, a Bedford foi contratada pelo Governo da Inglaterra para produzir um caminhão de serviço geral 4×4 de 3 toneladas. Um modelo ficou pronto em fevereiro de 1940 e a produção em quantidade começou em março de 1941. O Bedford QL esteve em produção de 1941 a 1945 e foi a primeira série de veículos da Bedford construída para os militares.
At the outbreak of WW II, Bedford was contracted by the British War Office to produce a 3 ton 4×4 general service truck. A pilot model was ready in February 1940 and quantity production started in March 1941. The Bedford QL was in production from 1941 to 1945 and was Bedford's first vehicle series built for the military.
Como comentei, essas reformas dão chance para fazer algumas experimentações, então usei um primer preto e fiz alguns degradês de luz isométrica para esse modelo. Também inclui alguns detalhes, poucos, que o kit da Airfix não tem.
As I mentioned, these renovations give a chance to do some experimentation, so I used a black primer and did some isometric light gradients for this model. It also includes some details, a few, that the Airfix kit doesn't have.
Minha ideia era fazer uma versão camuflada, como esse modelo da foto acima, um Bedford de museu que ainda iria passar por uma recuperação.
My idea was to make a camouflaged version, like this model in the photo above, a museum Bedford that would still go through a recovery.
I used AMMO by Mig paints for this kit, only the colors Black and Olive drab, which were the colors that came closest to what I found in references. It's important to remember that I didn't invest a lot of time for in-depth research on this kit, using it more for experimentation and fun.
The part I like the most about AFVs is weathering, as we have more freedom to use almost everything possible. In this case I used washes, oils, pigments etc...
Apliquei também alguns decais aleatórios, sem considerar muito sobre a veracidade dos mesmos, afinal como eu disse esse foi um kit para experimentar! Em breve as fotos finais!
I also applied some random decals, without considering too much about their veracity, after all as I said this was a kit to try new things! Final photos coming soon!
