Esse tipo de loja fez parte do meu imaginário de criança, adolescência e idade adulta. Primeiro em Santa Maria, RS e depois em Porto Alegre.  

This kind of store was part of my childhood, adolescence and adulthood imagination. First at my home town and after that the other cities I lived.

Aquela loja com kits montados na vitrine, balcões, caixa de kits, tintas, livros e o bate papo com o dono. Que saudades da Hobbycraft e da HobbyGeral que existiam aqui em Porto Alegre!

That shop with window shop built kits, counters, kit boxes, paints, books and chat with the owner. I miss Hobbycraft and HobbyGeral that existed here at my city!

Em contraste com as atuais mega lojas e distribuidores da Ásia, com seus sites abarrotados de ofertas e entrega no mundo inteiro, a HTC da Jaguaribe oferece além dos kits e ferramentas, a cordialidade e também um pouco da magia do hobby.

In contrast to today's mega stores and distributors in Asia, with their sites crammed with offerings and delivery worldwide, HTC Jaguaribe offers not only kits and tools but also some of the magic of the hobby.

Infelizmente esse tipo de estabelecimento está cada vez mais raro no país, e também no mundo, afinal a internet veio para ficar. Mas nada substitui a loja física, com o prazer e a possibilidade de abrir a caixa e examinar um kit que você não conhece, folhear aquela pasta lotada de decais ou ainda analisar aquela caixa de sucatas vendidas a preços módicos, que fazem a alegria dos "scratchers"!
Unfortunately this kind of shops are increasingly rare in the world, after all the internet is here to stay. But nothing replaces the physical store, with the pleasure and the possibility of opening the box and examining a kit you don't know, flipping through that folder full of decals, or even looking at that box of low-priced junk that makes crazy the " scratchers "!

Enfim, se você é um modelista "das antigas" uma visita a HTC da Rua Jaguaribe é sempre um refresco na memória, e se você é novo no hobby ou quer mostrar para seu filho ainda criança como eram as coisas alguns anos atrás, esse tipo de visita sempre vale a pena. Afinal, as vitrines dessas lojas nos fizeram chegar até aqui!

Anyway, if you are an "old fashioned" model maker, a visit to HTC of Jaguaribe Street is always a refreshing memory, and if you are new to the hobby or want to show your child how things were a few years ago, that kind of visit is always worth it. After all, the windows of these stores made us get here!
