LIVRO: Dresden, terça-feira, 13 de fevereiro de 1945 / Book Review

Olá pessoal,

Acabei de ler esse livro sobre o famoso ataque aéreo a Dresden nos meses finais da II Guerra Mundial. Escrito por Frederick Taylor, com 588 páginas e um extenso trabalho de pesquisa feito pelo autor que é historiador também.

Gostei muito do texto e da forma como o autor tratou o assunto, incluindo um histórico da cidade de Dresden e da região como um todo. Além disso, um contexto do Comando de Bombardeiros da RAF, talvez o principal ator desta história.

Claro que o assunto base do livro é a população da cidade, suas histórias e tragédias. Além de desmitificar também muita informação errada que foi construída durante os anos, muito em função da Guerra Fria.

Enfim, um ótimo livro sobre o assunto e uma aula de história bem contada e informativa.

I just read this book about the famous air raid on Dresden in the final months of World War II. Written by Frederick Taylor, with 588 pages and extensive research done by the author who is also a historian.

I really liked the text and the way the author treated the subject, including a history of the city of Dresden and the region as a whole. In addition, a context of the RAF Bomber Command, perhaps the main actor in this story.

Of course, the basic subject of the book is the population of the city, its stories and tragedies. In addition to demystifying a lot of wrong information that was built up over the years, largely due to the Cold War.

Finally, a great book on the subject and a well-told and informative history class.
