Recentemente publiquei um post sobre o quarto número da Enciclopédia de Aviação do Diego Quijano. 

Few days ago I published a post about the fourth issue of Diego Quijano's Encyclopedia of Aviation.

One of the chapters that I find most interesting is the one that deals with models aged by time, with extreme wear.

Esse capítulo praticamente resume e abrange uma grande parte das técnicas que aparecem em todo o livro, por isso, achei interessante fazer alguns testes colocando em prática essas técnicas em um kit bem antigo que tenho.

This chapter pretty much summarizes and covers a lot of the techniques that appear throughout the book, so I found it interesting to do some tests putting these techniques into practice in a very old scrap kit that I have.

Esse kit do P-40E da Airfix na 1/72 foi montado no final dos ano 90 e ficou muito tempo jogado em uma caixa de sucatas. Logo que voltei ao hobby, uns 10 anos atrás resolvi fazer um pequeno diorama aproveitando essa sucata com o mesmo objetivo atual, testar novas técnicas (veja a primeira foto do post).
This kit of the Airfix P-40E in 1/72 was built in the late 90's and stayed in a scrap box for long time. About 10 years ago I decided to make a small diorama using it with the same current objective, to test new techniques (see the first photo of the post).

Bem, para começar o teste das técnicas do livro apliquei uma nova camada de "chipping"feito com pincel e caneta em vários tons metálicos sobre todo o kit. Depois disso apliquei Verniz Acrílico AMMO brilhante para servir de base para as diversas técnicas com produtos a base de solvente.
Well, to begin the test of the techniques I applied a new layer of "chipping" done with brush and pen in various metallic tones on the whole kit. After that I applied AMMO Acrylic Varnish brilliant as the basis for the various techniques with solvent based products.

Para esse rápido projeto usei os seguintes produtos: tintas acrílicas metálicas AMMO By Mig, Tinta óleo em diversas cores, Panel Line AMMO, Strekking effects AMMO, Engine, Oil and Fuel AMMO e vernizes brilhante e fosco AMMO. 
For this quick project I used the following products: AMMO By Mig acrylic paints, AMMO Panel Line, AMMO Strekking effects, AMMO Engine Oil and Fuel and glossy and matte AMMO varnishes.

As técnicas aplicadas foram: chipping com pincel e caneta, wash, filtros com tinta óleo, escorridos, respingos, efeitos com lápis e pigmentos.
The techniques applied were: chipping with brush and pen, wash, filters with oil paint, streakings, splashes and effects with pencils and pigments.

Por fim, embora seja um projeto rápido e sem muito preocupação com a acuracidade dos efeitos foi bastante positivo aprender alguns efeitos e melhorar outros colocando a mão na massa e analisando a referência do livro.
Finally, although it is a quick project without much concern for the accuracy of the effects it was quite positive to learn some effects and improve others by putting hands on and analyzing the book's reference.
